The El Sistema Program is a music education program originated from Venezuela. It has been implemented in over 5 countries. Healthy Seed shares the belief of the El Sistema Program’s founder Maestro José Antonio Abreu that music can be an agent of social development transforming children’s lives. The ensemble-based musical literacy can develop children’s cognitive abilities and strengthen their sense of belonging to our community. In view of this, Healthy Seed lends its continuous support to the Music Children Foundation (MCF), a local organization, offering free musical training to underprivileged families with children aged 1-12. A variety of music programs and activities are organized, such as music playgroups, choirs, communal performances and concerts, with an aim to boost children’s confidence, recognize their talents, light up their passion in life and arouse their genuine interest in the community.
In 2015, Healthy Seed sponsored the “Music Cradle @ Sham Shui Po” program organized by the MCF to provide free early music education to children aged 1-6. Through interactive music activities and training, children were able to learn musical instruments and practical singing techniques from the program. Also, their social skills and concentration were improved.
